The Fairway Files Golf Scorecard app serves as a useful companion to FairwayFiles.com, an entirely free scorecard tracking system for golf enthusiasts. This application facilitates on-course entry of scores while playing, offering a user-friendly interface with color-coded scorecards that differentiate between pars, birdies, bogeys, eagles, and more. Users have the ability to toggle between net and gross scores and compare results based on their Fairwayfiles Index. It also allows for detailed tracking of essential statistics, including Fairways hit, Putts, Greens in Regulation (GIRs), Penalties, Sand Strokes, and Up/Downs. This comprehensive review of performance can aid players in identifying areas of their game that require improvement.

Among its scoring features, the app includes a GPS range finder that displays distances to the front, middle, and back of the green, as well as to various marked hazards. In cases where GPS data is accessible, users can also view satellite images of the holes.

While playing, users have access to historical scoring statistics, including a histogram reflecting previous scores for each hole. Scores and stats are updated in real time on the Fairwayfiles.com website, where golfers can keep track of their golfing history and statistics. This information is easily accessible to friends through the app or browser. Additionally, players can monitor their friends' recent rounds and statistics, following their progress on the daily Leader Board.
